Novena VidaHi! I am a dirty, desert, street rat. Born and raised in a million degrees, and I just spill my guts onto paper...In the sweetest way possible. "Novena Vida" is a whole idea of being on your ninth life (and 9 is my favorite number), so you have to make the best of it. This is my first time being part of this rad event and group. Everyone that I have met who is putting it on and taking part of the fest is so freaking beautiful and gnarly. My zines are mini journals and windows into any and every emotion and thought I've ever had. I think if I can share something with a single person, then that's jarring, in a good way. I like to tell people, "here is a piece of my heart." https://www.instagram.com/novenavida/ Holum PressHolum Press is a radical publishing collective based out of Phoenix, AZ. We produce Oasis, a journal of anticapitalism in the desert. Holum Press also helps local creatives publish their work. We have held book binding workshops at Wasted Ink, and have some exciting projects up our sleeve for this year. Ask us about how to get started self-publishing: our resources are available for the community! Oasis blends the personal with the critical, and its contributors grapple with anticapitalist themes through essay, prose, poetry, and art. Herbert Marcuse wrote that art becomes revolutionary when it depicts “the prevailing unfreedom and the rebelling forces, thus breaking through the mystified (and petrified) social reality, and opening the horizon of change (liberation).” In our current situation, where our miserable reality seems unchangeable, we must recognize art as a necessary element of our liberation. We launched our first issue of Oasis last year at Phoenix Zine Fest, and are proud to have collaborated on three more issues, with Issue 4 set to debut at this year's Zine Fest. We are excited to show the community what we've been up to in the last year! https://holumpress.com/ https://www.facebook.com/holumpress/ https://www.instagram.com/holumpress/ Daeba DesignsMy name is Dan Baele, I'm a traditional and graphic artist from Scottsdale. I have experimented in many media throughout my years, from pen and paint to 3D animation. Print media has always fascinated me, and I have just recently begun pursuing it artistically. I am particularly interested in screen printing, and hope to continue experimenting with the media surrounding the print world.
Recently I have been getting into the print world, and am hoping to unveil some new projects I have been curating lately. Being able to exhibit my work would be a wonderful opportunity, and I hope to connect with many talented artists from all over the state. www.danielbaele.com instagram.com/daeba93
