Who are you? Where do you come from?
I'm Angie Dell, I'm on the Board of Advisors for A-Buncha-Book-Artists (ABBA), a club based at ASU that serves the university and community throughout AZ with Book Arts-related events and learning opportunities. Hailey Tang, a student at ASU, is the current President, and we're excited to attend the event and share some examples of the books, zines, and more that our members have made. What would you like people to know about the work you create and/or why you are looking forward to tabling at Phx Zine Fest 2016? While zines are one powerful artistic form, our club members work in a large variety of mediums: letterpress printing, collage, illustration, paper cuts, origami, hand-bound books, handmade paper--you name it! We look forward to tabling at PHX Zine Fest because we admire the zine form and history, its use for social commentary and subversion, and the way it can be reproduced and distributed widely (unlike many artists' books we come across.) We're excited to be a part of this event, to check out some new zines and meet the people making and collecting them, and to learn more about the possibilities!
