Who are you? Where do you come from? What zine do you make?

My name is Amy Louise and I am from Des Moines, Iowa originally, yet have lived in Phoenix off and on for the past twelve years I am the editor of Lost Projects Zine, and the curator/ maker behind the art collective: Nature Detective Collective (tabling at the fest too!)

What would you like people to know about the zines you create and/or why you are looking forward to tabling at Phx Zine Fest 2016?

I had always wanted to be part of the zine community growing up in the Midwest during the 1990s-2000s. I wrote a handful over the years ('Yum!' & 'Lunatics, Idiots & Women') The zine scene was scarce and I was a different person then. Many of my publications never saw the light of day. I returned to zine writing over this past year to publish old and new work. Lost and found stories of longing, loss, wanting, shame, need, embarrassment, fear, etc. The things that keep us all up at night. It is my goal to hi-light my past unpublished work and nascent work of others in efforts to encourage folks to do want they want while they can, to tell their own stories in their own ways! No shame! I am super excited to be part of a community and meet people in the for real! New media modes like technology mechanisms are so far from what it means to connect authentically with one another. While the zine community relies on things like social media to connect, coordinate and to keep the scene alive, I am pumped to talk with a real person, swap zines and stories in person! Hooray for awkward introductions and to flailing flamboyantly!

Amy Louise seems like a very lovely girl. She has a very creative imagination. Her hard efforts were all worth it, for having to create lovely art collections. I am really proud of all of her achievements. Being able to do all of her work diligently is an amazing feat. She seems to have been a very industrious girl. She deserves all the recognition that she is getting today.
