I am a mixed media artist living and working out of Phoenix, Arizona. My zine is called Chachke Land.
My zines are an amalgamation of drawings, comics, and collages founded on half baked ideas, momentary whims, everyday observations, and a penchant for occultism and absurdity. I look forward to tabling the PHX Zine Fest.
I'm Brandon. I was born and raised in and around Phoenix and I make a zine called Sour Tide, which is a one-person anthology. This year I'm releasing issue 3.
I'd look forward to tabling at PHX Zine Fest because I think it's important for DIY/underground/outsider artists to take opportunities to engage their community. This helps to grow the appreciation for both idiosyncratic and more democratic forms of media across our various local subcultures. Both times I tabled at PZF previously, I got to meet and talk to a lot of new people, and also see a lot of familiar faces from various creative communities around AZ.
Brodacious Period Press
Paige Annabelle Turncliff is a trans artist from Brisbane, Australia who creates cartoon realism comics and animations with a dry sense of humor. Philip Turncliff is a trans artist from Phoenix, Arizona specializing in coloring and crafts under the brand name 'Buckaroo'. Hannah Walsh, a Phoenix local, is an occult artist, tarot expert, and full-time birdmom in no particular order.
I (Paige) am continuing Cooties with a new issue this year as well as some fun new artist sketchbooks, while Hannah is planning on bringing sketchbook zines, occult manifestos, and a hand-drawn booklet of pigeon facts. Phil will be rounding us out with his coloring books and crafts. We had a blast attending Zine Fest last year and definitely want to keep the train going. It's my hope that Brodacious Period Press will become a fixture, and now that we have access to our own toner printer I can see our output expanding every year!
