I’m Grace “GB” Bolyard, born and raised in Phoenix and I love this stinky city. I am an illustrator and graphic designer, and I use the brand Sheebie Jeebie to encompass all of my creations. I will be bringing illustrations and prints to ZineFest, I will likely be offering custom sharpie shirts, and I believe I’ll be bringing my zines Reba Moods and Fake Ads. Reba Moods is an illustrated mood chart inspired by Reba McIntire. Fake Ads is fake ads.
My brand of art is usually ~spooky queer humor~ so I’m excited to share that with like-minded folks. I’m also just a huge zine fan so I can’t wait to see all the awesome new publications this year!
We make political sci-fi zines and comix. We are the editors of the first transhumanist zine anthology Technophilia and the organizers of the first Tucson Zine Fest. Elisa Mask's zine "The Emptiness in You" uses a satirical Chick tract style from the 70s to endorse a nihilistic view. Her many zines show an interest in intersectionality and politics. Adam Yeater has many silent yet expressive riso-printed books featuring his distinctive characterizations of monsters, mutants, and other freax. In "Camera's Eye" Zac Finger takes on a retrofuturustic style satirizing "Blade Runner" and the works of William Gibson. Additionally, we make prints, cassette tapes, screen-printed shirts, stickers, and buttons.
We are very interested in getting to know other zinesters in the state of Arizona.
My name is Matthew Thompson, I started Fluke in North Little Rock, Arkansas in the summer of 1991. Fluke has mostly focused on punk music and lifestyle. I continued publishing off and on since, from Chicago, Seattle, Tucson and Phoenix. I'm currently working on issue 16.
Hola, I'm Jazz Torrez and I'm an artist, designer, and primary school teacher. I'm from El Paso, Texas and moved to Tempe, Arizona a little over a year ago.
My zines Fruit Salad and Videoglitter are collections of ink drawings with content taken from photos of memories, things I dream, and things that make me feel nostalgic or I wish I could see. Videoglitter includes short stories that accompany drawings, which is something I want to explore more in future zines. I look forward to tabling at PHX Zine Fest because I attended last year's fest and was amazed by all of the talent. I knew that I wanted to participate as soon as I walked in, and I'm excited to share my work and talk to other participating artists and visitors!
